We specialise in Creativity ,allowing both Children and Adults to carry out projects with in our workshops.
We believe that Arts and health go hand in hand.
Everyone makes their own art which comes from within ones self, connecting with ones experience of life.
New national studies show that Creativity is good for you.
Many of our customers are able to lose themselves and get creative.
Clay Creativity: Many individuals know the value of creating in the form of Drawing and painting however this is only a two dimensional achievement , once given clay to work with they feel and find out the benefits of this medium and soon learn how to construct 3 dimensional creations.
A Individual who has no experience of clay will naturally start by holding, pounding and twisting clay .Once this is completed they then grow in their understanding and begin to build their masterpieces.
A individual who comprehends what can be done with clay would move on to building immediately.
We have many moulds for use with in the Creativity centre.
We start by teaching individuals how to use our moulds.
We have moulds for many creatures and animals, new for 2006 has been small moulds for trinket bowls which has proven very popular indeed.
A basic session with in the creativity centre lasts approximately two hours.
We give a 1lb ball of clay to each person, teach them to use our moulds, tutor them on how to attach clay to clay creations (heads to bodies/arms to shoulders ) etc.
Once they have used up all of their clay and made their creations they can then paint them with liquid coloured clay which is commercially know as slip.
Once painted they are then ready to dry and are Kiln fired ,clear glazed and kiln fired again.
The creations are then picked up 7-14 days later depending on kiln space.
A valuable science lesson is learnt once the creations are collected.
